Hays’ netters finish fourth at the area tournament after placing fourth in district. Facing the best teams from Districts 27-4A and 28-4A, they beat 28-4A Champion Jefferson 10-0, then lost to Boerne Champion 10-0 to move to the third place playoff, finally losing to Kerrville-Tivy 10-2. This season was one to remember for the Rebels as they got their first ever defeat of Alamo Heights and advanced for the first time to the area tournament. “I am very proud of all of our players, many stepped up when we needed them and others really took on the role as leaders for their teammates,” Hays head tennis coach Debbie Cook said.
