Carolina Zapata Ramirez of Kyle passed away peacefully at home on March 27, 2013 at the age of 67. She was born on July 26, 1945, in Kyle, to Juan and Fernanda Zapata. Carolina married Vicente Ramirez in 1965 and were blessed with their daughter Sandra who resided and cared for her parents until their homecoming.
Carolina had a thirty-nine year career in the Culinary arena. She was part of the Cafeteria Staff at Hays ISD for 15 years and then joined Marbridge Foundation-Villa. She retired in 2007 after 24 years as the Dietary Head Cook. Baking was her true passion, and the gift of a homemade cake from Carolina was very much appreciated by anyone lucky enough to receive it.
Carolina will be always be remembered and missed by her family, friends and co-workers.
She was preceded in death by her husband Vicente, her parents Juan and Fernanda and her brother Juan Ramon Zapata.
The Rosary was recited Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at Harrell Funeral Home in Kyle. The Mass was celebrated at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Kyle.
