Daniel Richard Luke, 56, passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at St. David’s Hospital of South Austin after a long brave battle with cancer. He was born in Rochester, N.Y. on November 18, 1956 to Mr. & Mrs. Richard Luke. On September 22, 1990, he married Carla Sue Willis. Daniel was an avid golfer. He collected nickels and went to multiple coin shows. He was a member of the Numismatics Society (F.U.N.) He loved to cook and was into Astrology. He enjoyed technology and built computers. He was employed at AMD as a Senior Mask Layout Designer for 25 years. He was given the Spotlight Award from AMD for going above & beyond the Normal duties of a Mask Layout Designer. He enjoyed cooking and placed several times in the Chili Cook Off with AMD.
He is survived by his wife Carla, two daughters; Lorren and Shelby Luke, sisters; Tricia Bishop, Doreen Edwards, Laurie Vasquez, Kathryn Miller, Brother Mike Luke and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 30, 2013 at Harrell Funeral Home in Kyle followed by graveside services at Kyle Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family request that contributions to made to the American Cancer Society for multiple myeloma.
