Empty Bowls GlazAthon this weekend
Students, staff, parents and the community are invited to the Hays High School Art Club’s GlazeAthon. Come out and be a part of the painting process to help paint clay bowls for the Art Club’s HHS “Empty Bowl” event to be held in December. The GlazAthon takes place from 8 a.m.-noon Nov. 9 in room B103 at the school. The art class will supply all materials needed to paint the clay bowls. The event is free and open to the public.
Barton Middle School Veteran’s Day blood drive
Hays CISD’s Barton Middle School is teaming up with The Blood Center of Central Texas to sponsor a Veteran’s Day blood drive. Organizers say they want to show the community’s support of veterans who have given so much of themselves to ensure our freedom and safety. Look for the colorful bus parked in the lot. For appointments, contact Bill Sinor at 512-262-8195 or email [email protected], however, walk-ins are welcome. The process takes about an hour. The basic requirements to donate blood include being at least 17 years old, weighing at least 115 lbs for whole blood donation and being in generally good health. Donors must bring a photo ID. The blood drive takes place from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Nov. 11 at Barton Middle School.
Hays CISD Board of Trustees meeting Tuesday
The Hays CISD school board workshop meeting will be held beginning at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 12 (note the change from the usual Monday night meeting) in the Technology Building at Hays High School. The business meeting is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Nov. 18 in the same location.
Fall festival at Pfluger
The PTA at Ralph Pfluger Elementary in Buda will host its third annual Fall Festival from 6:30 p.m.- 9:30 p.m. Nov. 15 at the school.
