KYLE — The wait is almost over for the new name of West Ranch to Market 150.
With a narrow list of four names, the committee is set to finalize its decision at its regular meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 6, before making a recommendation to the Kyle City Council.
The following names will be discussed: Veterans Drive, Albert Taylor Street, Martin Luther King Jr Street and Resilience Drive.
The process has received negative feedback as many Kyle residents question whether RM 150 should be renamed at all and why the new mascot won’t play a factor. But the committee never lost hope.
“We don’t want to rush through this” said committee chair Vanessa Westbrook at the first meeting on Oct. 21. “But we do want to have time to have great discussions and be able to put something forth that we believe our neighbors would be proud of.”
Residents are encouraged to provide public comment at the virtual meeting on Wednesday by registering before 12 p.m. on that day.
