A man overlooks an accident that shut down northbound IH-35 for several hours over the weekend. First responders were called at 10:30 a.m. Saturday when a white Ford Mustang, driven by Alejandrino Diaz, 27, of Kyle, was pinned underneath an 18-wheeler near the 216 mile marker in Kyle.
Firefighters from the Buda and Kyle Fire Departments worked for one hour to remove the injured Diaz from the wreckage. He was then airlifted to UMC Brackenridge in Austin via StarFlight. The accident shut down IH-35 from the Kyle Parkway to the Kyle Crossing bridge until 12:30 p.m. that day, causing major traffic snarls around the city. (Photo by Moses Leos III))
