She spent her early years helping with the family farm and enjoying trips to Niagara Falls. She worked at Dunlap Tires during World War II. She married and moved to Babylon, New York, where she raised three children.

Mom was a dedicated homemaker and active member of the Dutch Reformed Church of North Babylon, New York.

She and Evan moved to Clearwater, Florida, where they enjoyed friends and activities at Top of the World, volunteer work, cruises, and trips to Clearwater Beach.

Eleanor is survived by her children, Lin Spatcher, Jan del Castillo (Jeff) of Buda, and Bruce Yearwood (Patty) of North Babylon, NY, grandchildren Bruce Yearwood, Chris Yearwood, Michael Yearwood, and Jennifer Presto of New York, Travis Spatcher (Cindy) and Christa del Castillo (Morgan) of Buda, and Danielle del Castillo Shelton (Trey) of Buena Vista, Colorado, as well as great-grandchildren Jonathan, Alexandra, Samantha, Ashlee, Shannon, Jacob, Christopher, Michael, Sophia, Lincoln, Zachary and Summer.

The family thanks dedicated and faithful caregivers Isabel Rivas, MaryAnn Lucio, Irma Duran, Josie Luna and Sabrina Barrera who lovingly cared for Eleanor.  Thank you to Dr. Patricia Mossburg for her excellent care and unending kindness, Heart to Heart Hospice for their compassionate care, and Emeritus for their support.  Memorials may go to San Marcos Food Bank, 220 Herndon, San Marcos, Texas.
