The first day of school for Hays CISD was Monday.
Scarlett Teague, 5, on her first day of school. She is in kindergarten at Carpenter Hill Elementary. Dad Joshua Teague of Manchaca said it was a successful drop-off. He later posted on Facebook, "I officially have a kid in school now so I'd better not catch you speeding or texting through a school zone. Be careful out there!"
