WIMBERLEY – A four run sixth inning spree Thursday, highlighted by a go-ahead three run home run by senior Cameron O’Banan, carried the Dripping Springs Tigers to a thrilling 4-1 win over the Alamo Heights Mules in Game 1 of their best-of-three regional quarterfinal series.

Dripping Springs leads the series 1-0 with Game 2 scheduled for Friday at 5:45 p.m. at Wimberley High. If necessary, Game 3 will be played 1 p.m. Saturday at Wimberley High.

The Tigers, who struggled against Alamo Heights pitching for most of the contest, trailed 1-0 through five frames before rallying back in the sixth. An RBI single by Tiger junior Aidan Perry tied the contest at 1-1.

After a two-out base hit by senior Max Miles, O’Banan followed with a three-run home run to left field to give Dripping Springs a 4-1 lead. O'Banan went 1 for 3 with three RBI's, while Perry went 1 for 2 with an RBI. Tiger pitcher Nico Ruedas earned the win by striking out three batters over seven innings of work.
