Our beloved Jesusita (Susie) Limon Medina, age 75, of Buda, was called by our Heavenly Father on Sunday, December 9, 2012. She is preceded in death by her parents, Matias and Inocencia Limon, brother Frank Limon Sr. and sister Alejandra Limon Euresti.
Susie was proud to be a native Austinite from “La Calle Cinco” (E. 5th Street) where she grew up among many Limon cousins, aunts, and uncles. In 1962 she met and married Captain Tomas Medina, at that time an Army Staff Sergeant stationed in Austin. As an Army wife she often had to manage her household and raise her children alone while her husband served overseas. She enjoyed the opportunity the Army offered to travel and live in different places throughout the United States and abroad. Her outgoing personality allowed her to easily assimilate local cultures and make life-long friends in every place she lived.
Susie is survived by her loving husband Tomas Medina; son Richard Medina; daughter Cynthia Paez (Hector); grandsons Richie Medina, Bryson Medina, and Hector Paez Jr.; granddaughters Analicia Paez, Leticia Paez, and Bianca Medina; two brothers and seven sisters.
Recitation of Holy Rosary was Thursday, December 13 at Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial was Friday, December 14 at Cristo Rey Catholic Church in Austin followed by burial at Assumption Cemetery.
