The information that Kyle Fire Chief Glen Whitaker (sic) furnished about Code Red was very helpful to those who can use it. I have an alternate suggestion for those outside of the Code Red area.
As a member of three disaster relief teams, my wife and I have seen many instances where people were not prepared because of no early warning. I recommend that everyone have a weather alert radio which not only gives weather alerts, but all hazards including Amber alerts. There is a model produced by Midland Electronics which is easily programmable so that only alerts pertaining to your county or whichever counties you choose will sound on your radio. These sell for about $30.00.
