Free child safety seat checks
The Texans in Motion program is offering free child safety seat checks from 9-11 a.m. on August 14 at Central Texas Medical Center in San Marcos. Certified technicians will be on hand to check car seats and educate parents on using car seats correctly. Parents are asked to please bring their car’s operation manual and any instructions for the car seat, if available. This is a free event, but participants should call the Hays County Personal Health Department at 512-393-5567 for an appointment time.
AgriLife Extension offers high school financial planning
The Hays County AgriLife Extension offers a High School Financial Planning Program for high school students, who will earn more than $1 million in adulthood. The program helps students develop money management skills and increase their financial literacy. Students will learn about budgeting, financial planning, savings and investments.
