Gospel Brunch with a Texas Twist
If you miss church this Sunday, don’t worry. You can catch the Gruene Hall Gospel Brunch from 10 a.m.-noon the second Sunday of each month (except January). They serve up awe-inspiring music by Bret Graham, The Gospel Silvertones and Selina Affram, not to mention a buffet catered by The Gristmill River Restaurant. Go for the Gold
With Olympic fever in the air, Cabela’s in Buda is hosting its own 2012 summer games, from 10 a.m.-noon, Aug. 11-12. Those 14 and under can compete in archery, pistol shooting at a controlled range, and target practice. The event is free (and winners need not pay taxes on their winning medals).


 


Market on the Square
Head to the courthouse square in San Marcos 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday and bag some fresh, sustainable local produce, prepared foods, meats and cheeses. Be sure to stock up on fair-trade organic coffee, too. Stroll around the square to find organic soaps, lotions, granola, salsa and more.
