Hay bales and Pumpkins! What a Halloween Storytime on Wednesday, Oct. 31! Sitting on a hay bale in the Kyle Public Library plaza, Miss Bri read stories and sang songs with 80 children dressed in Halloween costumes and accompanying adults. Stories included a wonderfully illustrated book, “And Then Comes Halloween,” by Tom Brenner, in which children gleefully make Halloween decorations and choose costumes to wear for a night of trick or treating by Tom Brenner, and “Shake Dem Halloween Bones” by W. Nikola-Lisa, a shaking and rattling good book about some of our favorite storytime characters who arrive at the Halloween hip hop. Stories and songs were followed by everyone joining in and creating their own pumpkin for Halloween night displays! Books were given away in place of Halloween candy and pumpkins were raffled off for children to take home for Halloween.
The library staff would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to H-E-B Plus! Kyle and the Friends of the Kyle Public Library for the donations of pumpkins. Check out the photos on the library’s website and join us for future storytimes at the Kyle Public library held every Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. and our bilingual storytime on Fridays at 10:30 a.m.
