Jonathan Porterie

By ANDY SEVILLA

A San Marcos man is on the loose after police say he allegedly sexually assaulted a woman early Sunday morning.

Jonathan Porterie, 22, is wanted by San Marcos police for an incident that occurred at the University Club Apartments on Leah Avenue at approximately 3:30 a.m. on Nov. 3.

San Marcos Cmdr. Penny Dunn said a warrant was issued for Porterie, who was identified by the victim by name. Hays County Pct 2 Justice of the Peace Beth Smith issued the warrant.

The suspect is a former resident of the apartment complex and was arrested and charged twice in September for entering unlocked apartments of young female residents.

On Sept. 7, he was charged with Criminal Trespass of Habitation - Class A Misdemeanor, after a woman discovered Porterie in her room standing near her bed. She called 911 and he was arrested at his apartment in the same building, Dunn said.

Porterie was already under investigation for an earlier incident reported on Sept. 4 where he was accused of illegally entering the apartment of a resident of the complex and making physical contact with the victim. He left the apartment when the woman and roommate confronted him.

Porterie was charged with Burglary of a Habitation with Intent to Commit a Felony - 1st Degree Felony. He posted bond of $45,000 and was released from the Hays County Law Enforcement Center on Sept. 14.

Police have been searching for Porterie since the incident occurred Sunday morning. He is known to drive a blue, 2009 Mitsubishi, possibly a Lancer model, with Texas drivers plate HXR453.

Anyone with information about Porterie is asked to call 911 or the non-emergency police number in San Marcos of (512) 753-2108 to report his location immediately.
