An 18-year-old San Marcos woman has died after being struck by an Amtrak train while she was walking on the railroad tracks at Post Road and Aquarena Springs Drive just before 11 p.m. Monday.
Angelina Isabel Castillo was transported to Central Texas Medical Center where she died shortly after 1 a.m. Tuesday, according to San Marcos Police Sgt. Christopher Tureaud. Justice of the Peace Margie Hernandez has ordered an autopsy.
San Marcos Police, Fire and EMS responded to the scene. The fatality is being investigated by the San Marcos Police Collision Investigation Team, Amtrak Police and Union Pacific Police.
