STAFF REPORT
For the second time in three months, a pizza buffet chain is coming to Kyle.
CiCi’s Pizza is set to open in the next two weeks, possibly on June 23, beside the Lowes and Walgreens on Kyle Parkway, city officials report. The company did not respond to a request for comment.
The first buffet place, Panhandler Pizza, opened in March down the road and across Interstate 35 near the H-E-B Plus.
In a growing suburban city with plenty of people but slim pickings for restaurants, Kyle has experienced a mini-fast food boom in the past year. Two sit-down restaurant chains have plans to open soon, as well.
In late May, the city of Kyle issued building permits to the Royal Seal Construction Co. to build a 4,676-square-foot IHOP and 5,289-square-foot Applebee’s on the I-35 frontage road next to Target.
CiCi’s offers 28 varieties of pizza, pasta, salads and desserts.
