Texas State officially reaches FBS status, joins WAC

As of Sunday, July 1, the Texas State Athletic Department is officially a member of the Western Athletic Conference (WAC). Texas State is joined by Denver, Seattle, UT Arlington and UTSA as new members to the WAC for the 2012-13 school year. The conference will have 10 full members for the 2012-13 school year with Idaho, Louisiana Tech, New Mexico State, San Jose State and Utah State all returning to the conference that stretches from Louisiana to Washington. In addition, Cal State-Bakersfield and Dallas Baptist will join the WAC for baseball only.


The move also gives the Texas State football program Football Bowl Subdivision status.

First conference game – Oct. 27 at WAC Championships


Football
First Game – Aug. 19 at Sam Houston State

First Conference Game – Oct. 13 vs Idaho


Soccer
First Game – Aug. 19 at Sam Houston State

First Conference Game – Sept. 28 vs. Idaho


Volleyball
First Game – Aug. 24 at Texas A&M

First Conference Game – Sept. 13 vs San Jose State
