IBM recently awarded Wallace Middle School a $3,000 grant for the more than 80 volunteer hours, including a cyber-bullying presentation given by Ashley Palomarez, IBM employee and Wallace PTA Board member. The grant money has been allocated to technology improvements in the library, Community In School’s anti-bullying campaign and Club GEN.

IBM’s community service initiative, IBM On Demand Community, enables IBM employees and retirees to find volunteer activities and equips them with a range of resources to help schools and community organizations. Launched in 2003, the program exceeded 10 million hours of volunteer work in June 2010, by nearly 150,000 participants.
