Geraldine Elizabeth (Geri) Miller, age 82, of Buda, went home to be with our Savior on Thursday, April 19, 2012. Geri was born on February 10, 1930 and grew up in Detroit, Michigan. She had lived in Buda for the past 17 years. Her husband, Joseph; father, John Monahan; mother, Georgia Hunter and brother, John Monahan, preceded Geri in death. Sister, Barbara Rapids, four nieces and nephews of Michigan and a multitude of friends survive her.
Geri was an employee at Seton-Hays Hospital in Kyle as an invaluable unit clerk in the critical care unit. She was their first hospital volunteer where she served more than 500 hours in ICU; first volunteer to become an employee and the first employee to get the “HERO” Award.
She was a member of the Onion Creek Senior Citizens Center in Buda and a member of First Baptist Church of Buda where she was quite a bible scholar. Family, friends and co-workers remember her as a devout Christian, loving, dedicated and special “dynamite” little lady.
Special thanks to the doctors, nurses and entire staff of St. David’s Medical Center and Christopher House in Austin for the excellent care and attention given to Geri.
A remembrance celebration of Geri’s life will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2012, at 2 p.m., at First Baptist Church in Buda.
