David Benjamin Weatherford, 81, of New Braunfels, formerly of Austin, passed peacefully from this world on April 17, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. David was the sixth child born to Archie and Dolly Weatherford in Dilley, Texas. He was an avid sportsman, baseball coach and founder of The Weatherford Company, an equipment supply company.
Cherished by his wife, children, and grandchildren, he will be greatly missed. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Sydney and sister Dottsie. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Joy Laverne Weatherford, their children and their families; three sons, Jim and Debbie Weatherford, Sam and Beverly Weatherford, and Jack Milnor; three daughters, Mindy Austin and Yassin Hassan, Tricia and Terry Masucci and Lynn Milnor and Rick Chapman; two brothers, Ken and Jack Weatherford; two sisters Florence Berrong and Taffy Martin and 12 grandchildren.
Furneral service was held Saturday, April 21, 2012 at Harrell Funeral Home in Kyle followed by interment at Kyle Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, Burn Institute, 815 Market Street, Galveston, TX 77550.
