Hays High graduate now practicing dermatology
Ashley Knight, a 2005 graduate of Hays High School, is now practicing medical and cosmetic dermatology at Westlake Dermatology Round Rock as a certified Physician Assistant. She received a bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University in 2009 and a master’s in Physician Assistant Studies last summer from Texas Tech Health Sciences Center.
Notable Texas State alumni win honors
The Texas State Alumni Association has bestowed its highest honor upon six notable Texas State alumni for 2012. Linda Gregg Fields, Kathleen Fite, Darcy Hardy, Paul Phillips, Jill Pruetz and Steven “Blake” Ratcliff are this year’s recipients of the association’s Distinguished Alumni Award. The awards were presented Oct. 12 during the Texas State Homecoming weekend. Award recipients are Texas State graduates who have distinguished themselves in their chosen occupations and whose leadership serves as an example for the Texas State community.
