Driver crashes into home; no injuries inside

Residents of a home on Western Trails in Kyle’s Spring Branch neighborhood were unharmed after a Honda Pilot SUV crashed into a portion of the house last night around 11 p.m. Friends of the homeowners said a three-month old child was asleep in the room where the crash occurred but sustained no injuries.

Kyle Police Chief Jeff Barnett said witnesses say they saw the vehicle going fast then go through a stop sign, leave the road, strike a car and hit the home, which is in a cul-de-sac. The SUV also ran over two small trees before hitting the building.

The driver, a 41-year old female who lives in Spring Branch, was taken to University Medical Center Brackenridge with severe injuries, according to Barnett. Officers at the scene were unable to interview the woman due to the nature of her injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.

Note: An earlier version of this story gave an incorrect name for the Spring Branch subdivision.
