Frank “Buddy” Allen (1949 - 2012)

Frank “Buddy” Allen of Buda flew to Jesus on December 5, 2012, at the young age of 63, due to the onset of liver complications for which he suffered only a month.

Buddy was laid to rest near his mother and father at Mt. Zion Cemetery on Saturday, December 8, 2012. He was born Frank Richard Allen to Claude and Helen Allen on September 25, 1949, in McCamey, Texas. Frank grew up in a house full of love from his parents, who preceded him in death, and his sister, who affectionately nicknamed him “Buddy.” He married and had two children – children who never questioned the meaning of love, because their dad exhibited it through all of his life’s trials and joys. He owned and operated a successful security company most of his adult life, yet still made time to teach his kids how to play golf and hunt – activities they enjoyed with him regularly. Other activities he delighted in, included mowing the lawn with his granddaughter and teaching her how to dig a ditch in the backyard.

His loving spirit lives through the sorrowful eyes of anyone who ever met him and he will rest in the hearts of those whom he knew loved him so deeply it swallows them whole.

He is survived by his daughter, Alissa Ward, and husband Bradley; his son, Dustin, his sister; Beverly Armstrong and husband Rick and their daughters, Heather Dasher, Ashley Armstrong and his “littlest girl,” granddaughter Mary-Avery.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m., Saturday, December 15, 2012, at Hays Hills Baptist Church in Buda. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Crisis Pregnancy Center in San Marcos, Texas.
