Kay I. Woertink, 71, of Austin, died February 8, 2012, at St. David’s Hospital surrounded by her husband of 49 years, Robert D. Woertink (Bob) and her four children. Kay was born May 14, 1940, in San Diego, California, the daughter of the late Joseph E. and Lois I. Rhile. She graduated from the University of California Riverside in 1962, and then taught 3rd grade elementary school. On April 6, 1963, Kay married Bob. She spent the next 49 years as a loving, caring and generous wife, mother, and grandmother.
Kay is survived by her husband, Bob and her children Krystn Goulet of Cedar Park, daughter and son-in-law Dr.Karyn and Mike Collins of Buda, son and daughter-in-law Robert J. and Michelle Woertink of Plano, and son and daughter-in-law Jonathan M. and Heather Woertink of Austin, and her 14 grandchildren.
Services will be held at the Buda United Methodist Church in Buda on Saturday March 3, 2012. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the American Kidney Fund, 6110 Executive Boulevard, Suite 1010, Rockville, MD 20852.
