The Summer Movies in the Park series is underway. The series runs Friday evenings in the month of June at Buda City Park in downtown Buda beginning at 9 p.m. The movie series is free to the public and presented by the City of Buda. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, and snacks. Concessions will be provided by the Buda Lions Club and Kona Ice. The movie schedule is as follows:
· June 15 – Dolphin Tale-PG
· June 22 – Puss in Boots-PG
· June 29 – Classic movie night: E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial-PG

Mark your calendars for the free annual Red, White, and Buda Independence Day Celebration and Fireworks Show at Buda City Park on Wednesday, July 4. Here is the schedule of events:
· 9 a.m. Children’s Parade – Everyone is encouraged to participate in the parade! Line up begins at 8:30 a.m. near the old Post Office building and next to Garcia’s (Downtown Buda) and ends at Buda City Park. Decorated bikes, wagons, scooters, strollers, and more will take a short parade route to City Park down Main Street.
· 9-11 a.m. Children’s Activities and Magician – There will be free inflatable activities and a magician at Buda City Park. Concessions will be provided by the Buda Area Chamber of Commerce.
· 9:30 p.m. Fireworks Show – The City of Buda has procured the largest fireworks display ever in Buda as we celebrate our nation’s Independence Day. This free fireworks show will last approximately 20-24 minutes. Folks are welcome to bring a picnic, blanket, and/or lawn chairs. Parking is available north of Buda City Park off of Garison Road.
