Auctioneers from all over the state of Texas will converge for four days during the annual state convention, June 13-17, at the Embassy Suites in San Marcos, and a new Texas Champion Auctioneer will emerge. Auctioneers and Ringmen compete live before a panel of judges, their peers and the local public. Contestants are judged for their overall talent and abilities in poise, voice control, clarity, speed and rhythm, bid escalation, as well as bidder encouragement and item descriptions. The Friday night championship contest event is free and open to the public. The contest begins at 7:30 p.m. Friday, June 15.
