The annual meeting of the Uhland Live Oak Cemetery Association was held on June 9 at the Immanuel Baptist Church with about 25 members and visitors attending. President Rex Wiegand called the meeting to order. Secretary Barbara Ilse read the minutes of the 2011 meeting and Daniel Heideman gave the financial report. Rick Kirchof gave a report on the Live Oak Cemetery being placed on a website and it should be up and running soon. More information on this as it becomes available. The updating of addresses of members is on going. If you have changed your address or a member has passed away, please notify the association of a family member to receive the mailings.
Memorial services were held for the following that were buried in Live Oak Cemetery since the last meeting. They are: Wilda Thrash, Ervin Ewald, Marshall Fuchs, Raymond Heideman, Jean Gallagher and David William Eggers. Also for Leonard Kramer, who was buried in New Braunfels, but was a member of the association. A lunch and fellowship followed the meeting.

Members of St. John Lutheran Church of Uhland welcomed Jacob Hohertz into the membership during morning worship service. We are blessed to have him join us. Attending the service were his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clay Hohertz and grandmother, Mrs. Bryant Hohertz.

Sympathy is extended to the family of Bryant (Bunton) Hohertz who passed away last week. He will be greatly missed by his family and a host of friends.
