Richard “Dick” Phillip Whitmore was born on November 25, 1925 in Lansing, MI. to Donald C. and Madeleine Whitmore. He worked for General Motors for 35 years. After retirement, he built 150 homes in the Austin area.
He will be missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Jean, seven children, 20 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Memorial Mass was celebrated Friday, June 8, 2012 in the San Juan Chapel at Santa Cruz Catholic Church in Buda with Father Kirby Garner as the Celebrant. The Holy Rosary was recited before Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are recommended to Odyssey Hospice 4201 W. Parmer Ln. Suite 100 Bldg. C Austin, Texas 78727. “Please do a kind deed for a person in need and think of me.”
