You’re invited.” Those are marvelous sounding words, as they should be. The most wonderful thing is that you are invited.
The Friends of the Buda Library is hosting its annual meeting at the library at 2 p.m. on Sunday, January 29 but the event is more exceptional than just a meeting. It is an opportunity to visit with long-time friends and meet new ones, be reminded of many tasks the group accomplished and its plans to benefit the library during 2012. In 2011, the Friends hosted two national library-oriented receptions, a gardening workshop, an essay contest for young writers and the annual book sale.
At the meeting, you can renew your Friends membership and get more involved with its activities to benefit the library. You can talk with the library staff to learn more about its services. For example, do you know that the library now provides OneClickdigital to get downloadable audio books? It offers services as varied as Drawography to bring out that inner artist in adults, many story times for youngsters and an adult book club. Additionally, you can get downloadable e-books, audio books, videos and music.
Similar to every great party, the Friends not only will provide an opportunity to visit with your friends and library staff; it will serve tasty punch, coffee and hors d’oeuvres second-to-none.
