Kyle, Texas is more than…Simply Charming

by RAY HERNANDEZ
Kyle Chamber of Commerce

Our Simply Charming community of Kyle, Texas continues to see historic increases in sales tax revenue. April alone accounts for a year to date increase of 32 percent over the same period last year.

While headlines in Central Texas reflect the new growth and expanding current businesses, I want to shine a little light on a few more items. Some of the things you might have missed are the ribbon cuttings at Panhandler’s Pizza, Longhorn Steakhouse, Central Texas Bookkeeping, River City Sportswear, Super-Krete and Camelot Community Care. Our next ribbon cutting is at N & S Domestics May 10. Our Ambassadors will also be on hand to help with the opening festivities of our new City Library on May 12 which is also the last day to vote for the Local Option Election.

ONAIR recently opened a four story office medical building just off FM 1626 and Interstate Highway 35. While we are thrilled about the activity on FM 1626, we are also excited about other areas of Kyle.

Plum Creek Golf Course continues to draw huge crowds and has been hosting upwards of 150 golfers a day. The Motley has some very yummy sandwiches on freshly baked bread and, who can stand to drive by the Texas Pie Company without stopping in for a treat?

Do not forget that May 17 a tasting and toasting event will take place at Texas Old Town here in Kyle. We are raising funds to help pay for the initiative to increase the availability of small businesses in Kyle and Buda to afford to offer beer and wine without having to purchase the more expensive mixed beverage license. Current vendors for the event are Cool Mint Café, Koy Chinese and Sushi, Simply Bliss, Nonna Gina’s, Dickey’s BBQ and FriDaze Liquor. The event is open to the public and tickets are available at the Kyle Area Chamber office at $75 per couple or $50 each.

We are also looking forward to another great luncheon at Plum Creek Golf Course sponsored by Peak Physical Therapy. This one takes place May 22 from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. and will surely sell out, so RSVP at [email protected] or by calling 512-268-4220 or purchasing your seat online at www.kylechamber.org by May 18.
