Joyce (Andrus) Petryk, 85, of Austin, Texas, passed away peacefully on Friday, Oct. 5, 2012 at her home away from home, Regency Village Care Center in Austin, Texas.
Joyce was born in Lubbock, Texas, on January 25, 1927, the daughter of the late Roy and Patricia (Diffendurfer) Andrus. On April 10, 1946, she married Gene Petryk in Temple, Texas.
Joyce was a loving and caring homemaker, mother, and devoted grandmother. Her family meant the world to her.
She is survived by one son, Gene R. Petryk and wife, Heather, of Savannah, Georgia; two daughters: Joy D. Petryk of Richmond, California, and Audrey Poer and husband, Gregory, of Buda, Texas; five grandchildren: Jason Poer and wife, Lluvia, of San Antonio, Texas; Jessica Poer of Austin, Texas; Julie Heckman and husband, Todd, of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina; Gene Petryk and wife, Kerry, of Bridgeville, Pennsylvania; and Kathryn Laxton and husband, Drew, of Seattle, Washington; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Gene Petryk.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the residence of Audrey and Gregory Poer, 320 Wildhorse Creek, Buda, Texas 78610.
