Ishmael Davila Cortinas (1932 - 2012)

Ishmael Davila Cortinas, age 80, was born in Luling, Texas, February 7, 1932 and passed away in Austin, Tuesday, September 4, 2012. Ish served in the Army and National Guard. He retired from the United States Postal Service followed by his retirement from Capital Metro. Anyone who knew him throughout his entire life could tell you how sweet, caring, giving, smart and wonderful he was.


He is preceded in death by parents Santos and Anita Cortinas. He is survived by his sisters Sandra Maldonado, Olivia Crews, Delorose Sepulveda and brother Pete Cortinas, his daughters Silvia and Jeanette Cortinas, Olivia Ochoa, Annette Mendoza and son Michael Cortinas. His long list of grandchildren include: Vanessa, Tenessa and Clarissa Rodriguez, Brianna Castillo, Christopher, Brian and Benny Mendoza, Savannah and Gabriella Ochoa, and Estrella Moralez and 13 great grandchildren.


The family wishes to extend gratitude to Dr. Punit Chadha and Texas Oncology. Rosary was held Friday, September 7th at the Harrell Funeral Home in Kyle and funeral services were Saturday, September 8th at Santa Cruz Catholic Church in Buda, followed by graveside service at Burial Community Cemetery in Luling.
