Hays County commissioners are moving forward with plans to reconstruct the Yarrington Road overpass on Interstate 35 south of Kyle.
The court voted unanimously Tuesday to increase from $2 million to $2.8 million its payment to the firm CP&Y Inc. for preliminary engineering and project management, among other services.
In addition to the overpass reconstruction, plans for Yarrington include new turnarounds on the bridge and rebuilding 1,000 feet of road to the east and west of the bridge. The funds come from the county’s 2008 road bond package.
