The Dahlstrom tennis team won the Hays CISD Middle School Tennis Tournament. The team had a strong showing and placed several individuals in singles and doubles play.
In Boys Singles, 8th grader Noah Benedict battled three straight opponents to reach the championship match, which he won. It was a grueling match with each boy hitting solid shots and pushing the other to go for every ball. In the end, Benedict came out the champion winning the 1st-place trophy, by a score of 7-5.
Also in Boys Singles, 8th grader Eric Brodbeck won the 3rd place trophy.
In Girls Singles, Claudia Norman and Sarah Ortiz battled for the Championship trophy, with Norman winning 6-3. Ortiz took home the 2nd-place trophy.
All four winning players plan to continue playing at Hays High School next year.
In doubles, Dahlstrom’s 7th-grade duo of Lauren Demareu and Lauren Poag were able to earn a 3rd-place trophy. They worked for every point and won 6-4.
