Hays CISD held its Virtual Technology Showcase, with entrants answering the question: How has Instructional Technology changed your world?
The winners were: Pre-K-5th grade – Sarah R., A Trip through Space; A three-minute video on Sarah’s trip to NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston and what she learned about the U.S. space program. 6th-12th grade – Ryan E., Virtual School Works; A photo collage representing all of the things Ryan was able to do because he took online classes. Groups – Hays High School, Metamorphosis Animation; a collaboration comprising animation of more than 330 drawings by the students who used technology to assemble, set the transition and add music. Staff – Leticia Maynard, iLearn with iPads; students wrote an original story then used iPads to create a cartoon incorporating the Toontastic app. They recorded themselves reading/narrating the story, and presented the stories to the class.
