James H. Kohler is a friend and a fine Constable. The old saw of, “If the wheel ain’t broke, don’t fix it” applies when considering his past and potential future service in Precinct 2. He deserves the support of everyone in the upcoming election.
James is a solid citizen by any measurement and his worth to the people was acknowledged in his string of successful elections. He defeated his current opponent in the last election and he deserves to do it again in the Democratic primary and then, beyond.
Seriously, when he acknowledges everybody in Hays County as his family that is how he sees his role. He is not a newcomer, but one who has served with all the good traditions of Western lawmen while watching and planning for the recent surge in population growth, simply stating that all he needs to continue providing high quality service is “another officer.” Now, here is a man who knows what being a Constable is about; working long days and doing his duty while staying under the radar.
