As proposed, a 10,000-square-foot in-ground concrete skate park will be designed and built on a 0.67 acre site on city owned property south of the elevated water tower on FM 967/Loop 4 just south of the downtown area. Elements to be constructed will include:
• Custom, in-ground concrete skate park with various skate elements to be determined via public input.
• A lighting system to allow park users to skate after dark (up until 10 p.m.) as well as by providing increased safety in regards to visibility.
• Restroom
• Memorial area for Jackson Tyler Norris
• Rules signage
• Asphalt parking area
• Park benches, waste receptacles, and native landscaping
• Bulletin board/info kiosk
On May 16 beginning at 6:30 p.m. at Buda City Hall, a design consultant from Action Sport Development will unveil design concepts for the skate park. Your input is needed to choose a design that best fits the needs of local skaters that is within the approved budget. If you are unable to attend the meeting and would like to provide input, please visit www.ActionSportDesign.com. The username is: buda and the password is: skatetexas.
