First summer season in the new library

Check It Out

by CARA WAITS

Summer is just around the corner and the Kyle Public Library invites you to join us this year as we celebrate the kick-off in the new library building. Registration starts June 1 and ends July 19. The program is open to all ages including adults.

Once you sign-up for the program, you will receive a reading log. For every 15 minutes you read, mark off a book and once it is complete, you may bring it back to the library, have it marked completed and receive 11 tickets for the Reading Raffle which will be held on Thursday, July 19.

There are programs for every age! We start the summer off with the Bonzo Crunch Clown Show on Monday, June 4 at 11 a.m. On Tuesday, June 12, the official kick-off party will be held at 10:30 a.m. with a special storytime reading by Mayor Lucy Johnson. And on Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. there will be special family events with performances such as “Animals Rock” with Lucas Miller, “Reading Is Magic” with Cody Fisher, Jungle Jim, “The Bug Man,” “Splash Day” with the Kyle Fire Department, “Yo-Yo” with Valerie Oliver and last, the Summer Reading Wrap-Up Party. A more detailed calendar of events is available at the library and online at our website www.kylelibrary.com.

Are you ready for some summer fun with a little mystery? Check us out at the Kyle Public Library, 550 Scott St., Kyle, TX 78640.
