Louise Clark White was born October 19, 1911, in Alta Mira, Mexico, to parents Walton Chandler and Isabel (Belle) Clark, who were at that time serving as missionaries there through the Home Mission Board. She died on October 6, 2012, just 13 days prior to her 101st birthday at her assisted living residence in Plano, Texas.
She graduated from Texas A & I College and married Toxie Wiley White in September 1934 shortly after her college graduation. He died in July 1995 as a result of a car accident.
She began her elementary teaching career near Corpus Christi and retired after 35 years. In addition to teaching in public school, she worked alongside her husband Toxie by serving as home missionaries to Spanish speakers across southern Texas for 25 years. She was fluent in Spanish and used the flannel graph and Child Evangelism materials to teach Bible stories to children.
Her interest in memorizing Scripture began when her husband left to serve in World War II and continued throughout her life. She also spent her life witnessing by personal contact and giving out Bible tracts in English and Spanish.
Louise and Toxie moved to Dallas in August 1984 and joined First Baptist Church. For the last several years she was a member of the Criswell Class taught by Dr. Henry Morris.
She dedicated her financial resources to her home church as well as Sudan Interior Missions, Child Evangelism Fellowship, Friends of Israel, and Bible Memory Association.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Toxie W. White, Jr. and wife Janet of Plano; one grandson Todd White and wife Leigh and step great grandson Matt; one grand- daughter Rene Creel of Nacogdoches; two great granddaughters April and Amber; and three great great granddaughters; one sister Bonnie Haner of Alice; and several nieces and nephews.
