Leonard Ike (Tooter) Miller, 77, of Kyle, went to rest in the arms of our Lord on Sunday, October 7, 2012. He was born in Austin on October 27, 1934 to Horace and Lillian Miller. He worked in underground utilities for 47 years mostly in the Central Texas area. During this time he was instrumental in the building of Austin.
He was preceded in death by his son, David, both parents, one brother and two sisters. He is survived by the loves of his life, wife, Elsie Blanche Miller; daughter, Debbie Forrester and husband, Allen; son, Jimmy and wife, Karen; grandchildren, Curtis Miller and wife Jessica; Kristie Rice; Carol Rice and husband, Jerry Hernandez; Lonnie Miller; and Scott Miller; great-grandchildren, Laura Albarado; Travis Rice; Alicia Hernandez; Hailey Hernandez; Kaitlyn Miller; Gracie Miller; and Sophia Miller. He is also survived by sister, Ivy Henson; brother, Melvin (Buster) Miller and wife Mary; sisters, Margaret Roberts and Dorothy Schuhmacher and husband Mike; brother Larry Miller and wife Janet; sister, Kathy Kay and husband Gary. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.
Visitation was held at Harrell Funeral Home, Kyle, on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 from 6-8 p.m., where services will be held on Wednesday, October 10, at 10 a.m. in the chapel. A graveside service will be held at Phillips Cemetery in Dripping Springs.
