Dorothy White, a resident of San Marcos, Texas passed away at the age of 103 Monday, Jan. 30. She was born Dorothy Marie Fisher Feb. 7 1908 in Kansas City, Missouri.
Dorothy moved to Olathe, Kansas with her family at an early age, and at the age of 19 she married Harold J. White and they raised a son together, Gary Allen White.
Dorothy had many jobs, but worked in the Probate Court of the Johnson County Courthouse for more than 20 years.
After retirement and the passing of her husband, Dorothy moved to the Onion Creek Village in Buda where she made many new friends. In her final years, she resided at Emeritus in San Marcos.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband Harold and her five siblings: Robert Edward, Emmitt Clarence, Ruth Myrtle, Hattie Mae and Lucille Albert. She is also preceded in death by her daughter-in-law Bernice White.
Survivors include her son Gary White and wife Verlenne Monroe of Mountain City; grandsons Gary Allen “Al” White Jr. of Austin and David White of Kyle; great-grandchildren Allison and Travis White; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Friday, Feb. 3 at 7 p.m. at Pennington Funeral Home in San Marcos. Viewing will begin at 6 p.m. Another memorial will be held in Olathe, KS, one week later.
