EDITORIAL
With the Texas primaries set for May 29, the Hays Free Press anticipates Letters to the Editor endorsing one candidate or another.
So, to clarify our policy on political letters:
• Only one letter per person and no letters will be accepted from candidates or their spouse.
• All letters must be signed and include a telephone number to verify authenticity.
• Letters must be 375 words or less and, as space requires, we reserve the right to edit all letters.
• Form letters will not be accepted.
• If we receive letters with the same general message, we will print one letter, noting that others in the same format were received.
• The last day we will print political letters is May 16. All letters must be received by 9 a.m. Monday, May 14.
• We will not run libelous letters and reserve the right to decline publication of any letter.
• Candidates may submit one press release. If it is necessary to submit additional information, please contact our advertising department for rate information.
Keep it clean, keep it succinct, and give us your phone number.
