Happy New Year!

Buda Bits

by SANDRA GRIZZ

Welcome to the year 2012! The holidays are over; kids are back in school, life is back to somewhat of a normal schedule…now let’s hope that the year is a good one.

If you are interested in a little history, join members of the Onion Creek Senior Citizens and Hays County Historical Commission on Thursday, Jan. 12 to view a documentary on Parks Johnson. Johnson was part of the “golden age” of radio in the 1930s and ‘40s and pioneered the man-on-the-street and audience participation-style of radio programming. Johnson lived in the Wimberley area and descendants of the Johnson family still live in Hays County. The screening will be immediately after lunch on the 12th at the senior center located at FM 2770 and Barton’s Crossing in Buda (behind the Justice of the Peace Office).

Birthday wishes go out to Kim Fry on Jan. 8; Jan Atkins on Jan. 9; Pat Heath and Judy Powell on Jan. 10; Jennifer (Powell) Williams and Nancy Logan on Jan. 11.

Looking for tax forms? The Buda Library has a big supply and while you are there check out a good book to read.

Make those New Year’s resolutions and try hard this year to keep them.
