The Kyle Area Chamber office is buzzing with two of the year’s largest events on the horizon. The North Hays County Business Expo booth assignment is in full swing, and the Kyle Fair and Music Festival is quickly approaching.
The North Hays County Business Expo will be held at the Hays CISD Performing Arts Center in Kyle from 3-7 p.m. Oct. 4. The expo is brought to you by the Kyle and Buda chambers of commerce. It will host an estimated 70 business vendors so attendees can learn about all they have to offer local residents. Be sure to mark your calendars for the jungle-themed event and have your resumes ready to drop off. Select businesses will be accepting resumes for open positions. This free-to-the-public event will have complimentary food, live entertainment and door prizes for you to enjoy, as well as networking opportunities with businesses from the area. While we will give away thousands in prizes, one person will walk away with $250 in H-E-B gift cards.
The next event is something everyone can partake in – the Kyle Fair! The free event is perfect for family fun and experiencing a “Simply Charming” time in Kyle. The fair will be hosted at Thunderhill Raceway, at exit 210 on IH-35 from Oct. 18-21. The fair will have both food and craft vendors, as well as live music and a carnival. Musical acts include Zach Edwards, John Slaughter, The Clay Wilson Band, Blake and Fallon and others. Be sure to heat up your grills because this three-day event will also include a BBQ cookoff on Saturday, and the first-place winners will receive $500.
Cookoff rules and entry forms can be downloaded from www.kylefair.com. But you don’t have to feel bad for indulging in great Texas BBQ, because you’ll have the chance to burn it off in the Kyle-O-Meter 5K and bike ride at 8:30 a.m. Sunday. Whatever your passion, from music to running and BBQ cooking, the Kyle Fair is sure to keep your weekend “Simply Charming.”
