Thousands of costumed kids, along with moms, dads, and grandparents strolled Main Street last Thursday night seeking treats from the 80-plus participating merchants. A big “thank you” goes out to all the local merchants and city officials for providing safe, fun activities for our kids. We also thank the city for closing Main Street so that everyone could move about safely.

With the tons of candy given away for Halloween treats, the folks at Buda Dental Professionals have a deal for you: They will buy back the candy and have it shipped to our men and women serving in the military. Buy-back day is Friday, Nov. 2, from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.

The Adult Book Club will meet at the Buda Public Library on Thursday, Nov. 15, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The book for November is “Sisters of the Sari,” by Brenda L. Baker.
