Rough Riders raise money for vets

Raising awareness and money for wounded veterans, the Texas Rough Riders rode up and down Center Street in Kyle last Friday, on their way to Brooks Medical Center in San Antonio. The four-man group is on a 340-mile ride for the Texas Wounded Warrior Foundation, a nonprofit out of Tyler that helps with rehabilitation costs for U.S. military personnel who are wounded in the line of duty. The horseback brigade started in Waxahachie on May 10. The Texas Rough Riders, three of whom are brothers and U.S. military veterans, say their effort is all about giving back. When the men arrive at Brooks Army Medical Center next week, they plan to hand over a check to Dick Goetz, chairman and co-founder of the Texas Wounded Warrior Foundation, along with board members Harley Wilke and Ron Nash. To donate, visit www.texasroughriders.co.nr or send a check to P.O. Box 2066 Corsicana, TX 75151.
