It’s also family reunion time. The Heideman and Kramer reunion was held in the Uhland Community Center with 54 members attending. Visiting began around 10:30 a.m., as families brought in the delicious food and shared lots of hugs and hand shakes. Betty (Heideman) Fuller shared a lot of Heideman history she had gathered during the years. After the prayer given by Clifford Freizenhan, the groups enjoyed the food and lots of sharing and catching up on family goings on.
Daniel Heideman, president, called the meeting to order. A memorial for Leonard Kramer, Raymond Heideman and David Egger, all who passed away during the year, was held. Carol Schumann gave the treasurer’s report and announced that a charge of $5 per person will be necessary to cover all charges, including rent, supplies, etc. The same officers were re-elected, Daniel Heideman, president, Kenneth Schnautz, vice-president, Carol Schumann, secretary-treasurer. The reunion will be held on the first Sunday in June 2013 at the community center.
Fred Kramer read a page of the Kramer family history that his mother, Mrs. Fred (Geogia) Kramer, wrote in 1967, about some of the reunions that were held in various places years ago.
The oldest person attending the reunion was Clarence Heideman (92 years) and the youngest, Sienna Kramer (6 years), daughter of Jay and Allison Kramer and granddaughter of Fred and Peggy Kramer. Coming the farthest were Cal and Kathy Motensen of Colorado (Kathy is the daughter of the late, Wm Gene and Grace Heideman).
