The Better Breathers Club will meet Monday, June 11 at noon at the Onion Creek Senior Center, 401 Barton’s Crossing in Buda. The program, sponsored by the American Lung Association, will be on the upper airway: sinus, nasal polyps and allergies. Don’t miss out on all the food, fun and great prizes at the annual Texas Hold’em Poker Tournament on Sunday, June 24. The fourth annual event is sponsored by the Buda Lions Club and is held at the Onion Creek Senior Center in Buda with check-in at 2 p.m. and play starting at 2:30 p.m. Cost is $30 with all proceeds benefiting the building fund for the new senior center.

The summer kick-off party for the Buda Library is 5:30-7:30 p.m.Thursday, June 7, at Buda City Park. This free community event will feature train rides, face painting, balloon twisting, craft booths, games and popcorn provided by the Buda Lions Club. Also on the 7th is First Thursday, come downtown Buda for strolling, shopping, eating and live entertainment.

The City of Buda Parks and Recreation Department will present the first summer movie under the stars on Friday, June 8. The free movie “The Muppets” is rated PG will start at 9 p.m. at Buda City Park. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets and snacks.
