A 16-point second frame was the catalyst for the Hays girls basketball team as they powered past the Kerrville Tivy Antlers 49-37 in a nondistrict tilt prior to the New Year. The victory helped Hays curb a three-game losing streak that included a pair of losses to Westlake and Lake Travis in district play. Hays continues district play Friday at Del Valle then returns home Jan. 12 to play Bowie.
